The RBC issued the following notice this past week:
To ensure that RBC is aligned with industry standards and maintains the security of our client and vendor information, we have implemented the TLS v1.2 protocol. Effective June 2018, TLS v1.0 and v1.1 will no longer be RBC-compliant. Any organization that has not upgraded to TLS v1.2 will no longer be able to send or receive emails with RBC.
To ensure that communications between your organization and RBC are not impacted, please verify that your email infrastructure has been updated before June 2018.
Note: If your email is hosted by Microsoft O365 or Google G-Suite, no action is required because those organizations have upgraded their systems to TLS v1.2.
If your firm does work with RBC then you need to ensure that your email system is securely communicating with the bank before June. Please contact your IT to set this up with the RBC
